Michigan GOP's Dirty Trick

The Michigan GOP has seen to find a new way to screw the workers. But this time, in the most backhanded way they could. Normally, Republicans will just not pass the legislation that helps the poor. But this time, they did something a little different.

A direct ballot initiative in order to raise the minimum wage and have paid sick leave. This was clearly going to pass. We know this because a majority of Americans, even the right-wing ones in Michigan, want a living wage and like not having to worry about being fired for feeling under the weather.

Even Michigan Republicans seem to understand this, considering they passed both of these things into law shortly after it was announced. Sounds great right. But here's the twist.

If something is passed through the state legislator, it only needs a simple majority to be gotten rid of. However, if the people pass it a 75% majority would be required.

So will these new pro-worker regulations last? Of course not.

Ephrom Josine's Well Regulated Militia

Well, my country's national holiday is today. Yes, today is the 4th of July. Considering our Canadian correspondent J.P. Savard wrote a piece about Canada's national holiday, it's only natural I write one about mine
So, in honor of our biggest national holiday, I figured I would honor our constitution. As an American, I know everyone's favorite part of the founding document is the second amendment of the Bill of Rights. Which goes as follows:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
So it was then it hit me what the best way to celebrate my country is. I'm going to create "a well regulated Militia". It's very important that the Militia is well regulated. In fact, the Militia, unlike Banks, must be well regulated.
But why create one? Doesn't it seem like nothing more than trouble? Well no. You see, I've made a lot of calls to action with this blog. So I think it's time I officially make a group to enforce them. In fact, I can think of 5 reasons to create this new group:
1. Make sure all protectionists who talk about Roger & Me saw it less than 30 years ago. I know we won't need to start enforcing this until 12/20/19, but it's good to get this out of the way early.
2. Pressure Donald Trump to start fighting the Axis of Evil. This is only by request of John Bolton.
3. Scare Sean Hannity. Not for real reasons of course, that would clearly be too far. Just scare him for irrational reasons, such as saying that "We should improve America somewhat".
4. Get Dinesh D'Souza to understand what the Kinsey Scale is. I don't have any joke for this one, I just think it's a good idea.
5. Give people more quarters just in case a libertarian becomes president.
However, as already stated, the Militia must be well regulated. But don't worry, I took care of that. It's very well regulated. How well regulated? I gave it 15 regulations for people who want to be a member to follow. If you want to join, you must obey.
1. Humans are allowed by default. Fantasy creatures are also allowed, you all are cool. Aliens are allowed if you are from a planet, no star creatures. And no vampires, period. They scare me too much. Werewolves are allowed, except on nights that have a full move. They must leave and rejoin the next day.
2. You must have been born at some point in the past. No time travelers from the future are allowed.
3. You must be able to tell the difference between a pro-Trump Republican and an anti-Trump (Jeff Flake, Bill Kristol, or George W. Bush). Little and nothing are both fine, and correct, answers.
4. You must be able to name more Trump appointees then you can characters on "Full House" or "Fuller House". You are allowed to just not name any charters on either show.
5. You must own a TV. You don't ever have to watch it, you just have to own it to prove you keep in touch with the modern American.
6. You must read at least one article in The Daily Wire, Townhall.com, or Breitbart at least once a week to keep an eye on the enemy. For this reason you must also listen to at least one segment (or 10 minutes) of Hannity or The Ben Shapiro Show. You are allowed to just listen to people make fun of them instead.
7. You must admit music has never been "original", nor has Hollywood ever "had ideas". You just remember the best ones from your time, awful products existed in the same quantity they do now.
8. You must not only know how to tie a knot, but also be oddly proud of it. After all, that's how it works in the Boy Scouts and they are one of the most popular groups in United States history.
9. You must know at least one Billy Joel song. This has nothing to do with politics, I just really like Billy Joel.
10. You must not pretend that "all natural" or "organic" diets are in any way better for you. That has been long debunked.
11. You must be able to name at least one of Donald Trump's failed marriages. His current one is allowed.
12. You must only look at your phone when you're doing something on it. Using it while talking to other people is fine, but don't just look at the menu. Henry Kissinger is not going to text you.
13. If you wear Skinny Jeans or Jean Skirts you are on the same level of Werewolves. You must leave while wearing them and you will only be able to return once you have taken them off.
14. You must always have a lot of quarters with you. You never know when the roads are going to be privatized.
15. You must still believe in climate change while it's snowing.
So, if you can pass all these regulations, you may join my militia.

So I Guess Democrats Are Racist, Or Something

So, let's talk about this week. It seems like the Republican party has been spending this entire week making false comparisons with there political enemies. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a new tactic (see Dennis Prager comparing a pedophile preacher to the morally questionable founder of Playboy). It just seems like this is the week all the stars aligned and they decided to find as many reasons to do this as possible.
Combined with this and the MANY other tactics they use in order to lie, and you get something truly special. Quite possibly the most recent, and yet longest ongoing example, is the idea that the Democratic Party is racist.
Yeah, this is one that's been going on for a while. It seems that over the past few weeks, Turning Point USA director Candace Owens has been going crazy explaining how Democrats are racist.
The next time @RepMaxineWaters @CoryBooker Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton open their mouths to tell us why blacks should align with the Democrats, close your eyes with me and visual: [Shows a picture of Stephen from Django Unchained]
It seems like Candace forgot that liberals are supposed to be the ones always complaining about racism with no proof, as she just accessed 4 people of being racist with no proof. For that matter, I thought liberals who always insulted minorities who didn't agree with them, odd that's exactly what Candace is doing.
This isn't the only she's done this by the way. Recently, she even went on Prager "U" in order to explain why "playing the black card" angers her so much. This is odd though considering she used to literally go under the name Red Pill Black and aimed to create a channel that would "promote conservativism to a black audience".
Mind you, she doesn't really make any case as to why the Democratic Party is racist in this video, but that may be because Prager has so many other videos on that topic.
For instance, Carol Swain has made two videos on this topic. One for both the Democratic and Republican party. Of course, very little of it makes any sense:
The Democratic Party defended slavery, started the Civil War, opposed Reconstruction, founded the Ku Klux Klan, imposed segregation, perpetrated lynchings, and fought against the civil rights acts of the 1950s and 1960s.
Interesting, now let's look at what Dennis (since he does hire all these people) has to say about how the left views slavery:
The Left’s view is that America was founded by rich white males who were intent on protecting their race, their wealth, and in many cases, their slaves.
So Dennis's view is that the Democratic Party was founded by rich white males who were intent on protecting their race, their wealth, and in many cases, their slaves. But hypocrisy is a virtue so I guess it doesn't matter.
Here's some of her commentary on the civil rights act:
Eighty percent of Republicans in Congress supported the [Civil Rights Act of 1964]. Less than 70 percent of Democrats did. Democratic senators filibustered the bill for 75 days, until Republicans mustered the few extra votes needed to break the logjam.
Funny how she ignores one of the most important critics of the bill from within the Republican party. Barry Goldwater, who was the Republican nominee in the '64 presidential election, was against the act.
Here's a statement Carol makes that is just weird:
[E]very black representative in the House until 1935 was a Republican. And every black senator until 1979 was, too.
Funny she mentioned the Senate because out of the 3 African American Senators, 1 is black. As for the House, there are 2 incumbent representatives that are both African American and Republican, compared to 41 that are Democrats. If pure numbers mean anything, then it's odd you even brought this up in the first place.
But okay, let's see the proof Carol has that the Democrats are racist now after all the founders were racist and it would be a virtue to say they're not bad but the Democrats are:
Massive government welfare has decimated the black family. Opposition to school choice has kept them trapped in failing schools.  Politically correct policing has left black neighborhoods defenseless against violent crime.
May I ask how it's not the "bigotry of soft expectations" to say that black people are just going to go on welfare? Also, I thought the left just called everyone they don't like racist, now if you're against school vouchers you're racist. And may I ask how political correctness of all things has caused any impact on violent crimes.
So to review, Democrats are bad because they were racist a long time ago and America is good even though it was racist a long time ago. I think these people think this makes sense, and like always, they are wrong.

Top 5 Republican FAILS Throughout History!

I'm sure many of you have seen the recent video in which Steven Crowder lists times liberals have been wrong throughout history. So that gave me an idea, why not go through his video and not only debunk the list he came up with, but also make my own list to compete with his.
So here we are with the Top 5 Republican FAILS Throughout History (with 5 Crowder fails)!
Crowder "Myth" #1-Peak Oil
I mean where would people get an idea that a non-renewable resource is something that we can run out of. The fact is that at some point oil production rates are going to have to decline because there is only so much oil in existence. Unless you are really going to argue that we have unlimited oil, in which case I would like to laugh at you.
Also, I think it should be pointed out that peakoil.com, you know the website about peak oil, says we will reach it around 2020. Just figured that needed to be mentioned. This is the first graph on the article from a website called Peakoil.com.
Myth #1-Paris Climate Agreement
You remember this, claims that by the way, Crowder himself has made. A deal that is non-binding anyway so even if it would hurt the economy, you don't have to pull out of the deal in order to not have those disadvantages.
But that's even giving them more credit then they deserve. The truth is the Paris Climate Agreement would help the economy But that's all bad because of globalism and Agenda 21.
But even if all of that weren't true, even if it didn't help the economy and was binding it would still be worth it to help stop the effects of Climate Change.
Crowder "Myth" #2-AIDS
Yeah, of course, he mentioned this one. Even though his views on AIDS have been debunked he's still spewing the same thing.
The only thing I feel like I need to point out is Crowder is still making the argument that getting AIDS is your fault and we should fund diseases that people can't control if they get like cancer and diabetes. But, by his own logic wouldn't it be there fault? I mean according to him the only way to get AIDS is to have gay sex with random people or shove dirty needles in you. But can you really get throat cancer without chain smoking 20 packs of cigarettes in a day? Of course, you can but he doesn't know that.
Myth #2-GRID
Yeah, remember this one. You know Gay-related immune deficiency or what we used to call AIDS, you know Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. You see, we used to think that the only way you could get it is if you were gay, turns out that's not true.
To be fair, it is believed that most straight people only started getting it because of bisexuals (their boyfriends had boyfriends) but if only gays could, how would that matter?
Crowder "Myth" #3-Reagan's Star Wars Program
Crowder just sort of complains that people didn't like the fact that Reagan used this program to get welfare (during record high military spending and a record high deficit). Also, he goes into this weird rant about how the British people turned there back on Winston Churchill after the war. Ignoring that time he compared Labour to Nazi's just before the election and that he wanted to invade Russia
Myth #3-Reagan's tax cuts
As I mentioned in the last article, saying Reagan cut taxes is a very misleading statement. Once payroll taxes are taken into account the bottom 20% had their taxes increased by 15%. The 2nd poorest 20% (21%-40%) also had their taxes increased by 0.6%.
Now, none of that would be a problem if the economy did well under Reagan, the problem is it didn't. The economy reached its worse point since the Great Depression under President Reagan, doesn't sound like a good one to me.
Crowder "Myth" #4-Model Cities Program (More Or Less Just An Attack On The War On Poverty)
Let's get one thing out of the way, the war on poverty HAS worked greatly. Despite two economic collapses, poverty has both stayed the same and remained LOWER than it was before the war on poverty started.
As for his claims about Chicago ignores that it was free trade deals that caused Chicago's economy to be ruined. I'm not even making a statement about free trade as a whole (in fact I'm usually for it) I'm just stating facts.
Myth #4-New Deal
Let's just keep this to Social Security for the sake of ease. Republicans have been talking about how it doesn't work and how it's unsustainable when none of that is true.
Bill Clinton got social security up until the 2070's, yet it will go bankrupt in the 2030's. That's because they spent the money so it will go bankrupt, so they could try to privatize it.
Crowder "Myth" #5-Venezuela
Okay, he has us there.
Myth #5-Iraq
Let's go down the list
-Sadam did not have any involvement in 9/11
-Iraq did not have WMD's
-The people in Iraq hated us after we invaded them
And that's just off the top of my head
I could spend a whole post going into all the myths Republicans spread during the Iraq war, but this post is already getting long and I don't have the time.
